CAMPO, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man was arrested Sunday after Border Patrol agents reportedly discovered nearly 100 pounds of methamphetamine and heroin stashed in a hidden compartment of a truck bed.
According to agents, the drugs were found after the man went through the checkpoint on westbound Interstate 8 in Campo around 1:20 p.m. Sunday.
The man was sent to a secondary inspection before a K9 alerted agents to the drugs, which were discovered in a false floor of the truck bed.
In total, the bundles contained more than 88 pounds of methamphetamine valued at over $185,000 and nearly seven pounds of heroin valued at more than $69,000.
The man, who is a Mexican national in the U.S. on a tourist visa, was arrested.
