CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) - A large tree fell onto a property in Coronado late Monday evening, but two people inside a home were not injured when a part of the tree hit the house.
According to Coronado police, the incident happened at around 10 p.m. on Ynez Place, near Adella Avenue.
Police said a Monterrey Pine tree, believed to be around 150 years old, fell for unknown reasons between two homes, striking a section of a house on the way down.
The downed tree woke up nearby residents who said it sounded like a plane crash.
The tree took down at least one power line and caused some damage to a home and a fence on the property.
San Diego Gas & Electric crews were forced to turn off power to the area to make repairs to the line.
No injuries were reported, but the incident forced the two people in the home affected to find another place to stay for the rest of the night.
