Missing Escondido man found safe

UPDATE (May 26; 1:49 p.m.): Sheriff's officials say Kyle Meekins, missing since Monday morning, was located in Escondido and is safe.

10News learned Meekins was found alongside the road in the 3600 block of East Valley Parkway on Tuesday afternoon.

Meekins appeared to be dehydrated when he was found, and he was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.


ESCONDIDO, Calif. (CNS) -- Authorities asked for public assistance to find a 34-year-old man who was reported missing in Escondido.

Kyle Meekins was last seen about 11:30 a.m. Monday in the in the 2200 block of Puesta Del Sol, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

The sheriff's department said Meekins doesn't have a cell phone and doesn't know how to operate a vehicle.

Meekins is white, stands 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds, and has brown hair, authorities said.

He was last seen wearing a burgundy Polo shirt, black shorts and black slippers. Meekins may also appear to be hunched over as he walks, the department reported.
