SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration are looking into an incident involving a helicopter that flew low over water in Pacific Beach and Mission Bay and dropped shirts and hats on Labor Day.
The San Diego Union-Tribune, citing a San Diego police spokesman, first reported of the incident, which occurred Monday afternoon at Crystal Pier, De Anza Cove and Crown Point.
SDPD officials confirmed to 10News that they received a report of a helicopter flying low over the water in the Pacific Beach and Mission Bay areas, but police said the FAA was handling the investigation.
FAA spokesman Ian Gregor told 10News the agency is looking into the matter.
No other details, including the identity of the party that dropped the shirts and hats, were immediately available.
