SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department announced extra patrols at houses of worship during the weekend in light of the deadly shooting at a Poway synagogue.
Deputies said there were no known threats to religious gatherings as of Saturday afternoon.
“We encourage our communities to continue with scheduled events and other activities as normal. The suspect in the Poway incident today has been captured and we believe he acted alone,” the Sheriff’s department said.

San Diego County also provides crisis counseling for anyone who calls 888-724-7240, Sheriff Bill Gore said.
Anyone with information about potential threats was encouraged to reach out to law enforcement.
