Driver crashes U-Haul truck into San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency building

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are searching for a driver believed to have intentionally crashed a U-Haul moving truck into the County Health and Human Services Agency building in Kearny Mesa and then fled the scene.

The incident was reported just after 7 a.m. Monday at the agency’s building on 3989 Ruffin Rd., according to San Diego police.

A description of the driver was not available, and it was not immediately known what was in the truck.

10News learned an expletive-filled message was spray-painted on the side of the truck.

Damage was estimated at $100,000, county officials said.

According to the agency, 120 people who work in the building have been moved to other facilities.

Visitors in need of assistance or resources were told to go to the agency's location on 5055 Ruffin Road.
