CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) – A driver was arrested late Sunday night after police said he led officers on a brief chase in Chula Vista.
The pursuit began at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday when police attempted to pull over a Honda Civic for an unspecified traffic violation on H Street.
However, the car sped away, prompting officers to follow it as it headed west.
After about a half mile, the driver crashed in a ditch off the 500 block of Marina Parkway.
The driver fled from the wreckage, but officers were able to apprehend him a few blocks away.
No injuries were reported.
Police are looking into the possibility the Civic was stolen.
