SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A high-speed chase that began in Chula Vista ended with the arrest of a driver in the Grant Hill area of San Diego late Tuesday night.

Shortly after 10 p.m., Chula Vista police spotted a silver sedan driving erratically in the 400 block of East H Street and tried to pull the driver over. However, the car sped away and entered northbound Interstate 805.

With police in pursuit, the driver made his way to westbound state Route 54 and then onto northbound I-5, reaching speeds up to 110 mph.

Near the Coronado Bridge, the driver ran over several construction cones before exiting onto J Street.

The driver stopped at a stop sign on 19th Street at Island Avenue, and responding officers arrested the shirtless man at gunpoint.

Officers at the scene told 10News the driver was likely under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

No injuries were reported during the pursuit.
