LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (KGTV) - A San Diego veteran is celebrating his 90th birthday 12,000 feet in the air.
Stan is a double amputee but that's not slowing him down. He went skydiving alongside his loved ones at Skydive Elsinore in Lake Elsinore Friday.
"I'm doing things I want to do, rather than sitting in a chair and vegetating. To me, hey, that's the way to do it."
When he was 81, Stan's left leg was amputated due to a blood clot. Four years to the day, another blood clot took his right leg. His roadmap to living includes wheelchair tennis, miles-long bike rides, and keeping up with yard work.
"How do I feel? I feel like I'm ready for 95, and at least my DL is good till then," he told 10News.
