SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Residents in Allied Gardens are sounding the alarm after another accident at an intersection near a school.

On Monday, a Mustang and a pickup truck collided at Glenroy Street and Princess View Drive, near Lewis Middle School, after San Diego police said one of the vehicles ran a red light.

William Olive, who lives at the corner, counted this as the fifth accident at the intersection since January 2018. In one of the incidents, his parked car was struck.

"We see cars racing up during the evening, we see people running the red light," Olive said. "We've had two accidents in the last three weeks, serious accidents, involving drivers running the red light."

Princess View Drive connects Mission Gorge Road to Waring Road, winding up a hill to the traffic light at Glenroy Street. The intersection is down the block from Lewis Middle School, which starts classes on Aug. 26.

City Councilman Scott Sherman has requested an expedited traffic review of the intersection.
