(KGTV) - A motorcyclist who died in a crash in Valley Center over the weekend was identified as a Chula Vista resident.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office said 30-year-old Emmette Antoine Brown II was killed Sunday after a collision at the intersection of Valley Center and Mirar de Valle roads.

The California Highway Patrol said Brown riding a 2007 Honda motorcycle and was traveling southbound on Valley Center Road at around 4 p.m. when he collided with a 2017 Nissan Altima that was traveling east on Mirar de Valle Road.

According to CHP Officer Kevin Smale, the Altima’s 39-year-old driver stopped at the intersection, then made a left turn onto Valley Center Road.

As the Nissan driver was completing the turn, the motorcyclist struck the left rear bumper of the Nissan and was ejected, Smale said.

Brown was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to a San Diego Union-Tribune report, Brown was a Navy petty officer who worked at Naval Medical Center San Diego.

The Altima’s driver and his two passengers, a 42-year-old woman and a 3-year-old girl, were taken to Rady Children's Hospital for treatment of their injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening, Smale said.
