SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diegans on the hunt for a job can now get some help from the Central Library in downtown.
They're launching a "tie-brary" where people can borrow work necessities just like checking out a book.
“It can be extremely costly, and you want to look professional and at your best when you go into these interviews, and that’s a burden that could set you back," said District 6 Councilman Chris Cate.
Cate's office donated $5,000 to help launch the tie-brary.
“So if you want to check out a tie for a job interview that you're going to be having you can come down to the library and check out a tie, or check out a portfolio, or whatever you need for that job interview. And then you return it just like you're returning a book," said Cate.
Cate's office will be collecting ties during April to continue helping with the effort.
