SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Police are searching for the driver who led officers on a chase in the Palm City area and fled the scene after crashing into other motorists late Wednesday evening.
San Diego police said they spotted a car reported stolen and tried to pull the vehicle over near Palm Avenue at around 10:45 p.m.
However, the driver sped away on westbound Palm Avenue, prompting officers to pursue the car.
The car crashed into two other cars, including one driven by a woman on her way to work, before skidding to a stop.
“I pulled over to my right, like you’re supposed to, and all of a sudden I feel a car accident happen. I was shaky, scared, crying a little bit,” the woman told 10News.
After the wreck, the driver of the stolen car jumped out and ran away. Police were unable to track him down, and a description was not immediately released.
The other drivers involved in the crash did not suffer serious injuries.
