SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A suspected drunken driver crashed his car into parked vehicles and through the fence of a Valencia Park home before fighting several residents who confronted him as he tried to leave the scene.
The incident happened at around 10 p.m. Sunday in the 5100 block of Coban Street, according to San Diego police.
Witnesses said a car slammed into two parked vehicles, drove through a fence and hit a portion of a garage before coming to rest.
According to witnesses, the driver -- later identified by police as 47-year-old Alonzo Duckworth -- then tried to reverse in an attempt to leave but could not because his car had become stuck.
Police said Duckworth got out of his car and attacked several residents, throwing punches until one neighbor tackled him and pinned him before officers arrived.
Duckworth was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, battery and resisting arrest, police told 10News. Duckworth is suspected of being under the influence of both drugs and alcohol.
No injuries were reported.
