SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A sleeping family was startled early Tuesday morning after a car slammed into a wall in front of their Point Loma home.
At around 2:30 a.m., a black BMW struck a guardrail and crashed into a concrete wall in front of a house in the 3100 block of Nimitz Boulevard.
Police said the driver abandoned the wrecked BMW. No other occupants were in the vehicle.
Family members inside, who had just moved in, were not injured.
The Tuesday morning crash was not the first time a similar incident occurred at the home.
In 2017, a car crashed into the house, injuring two people inside. The year before that, another vehicle crashed in front of the home.
While a guardrail was installed in front of the house to prevent similar crashes from happening again, neighbors say drivers still speed down Nimitz Boulevard all of the time.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
