SAN DIEGO (CNS) -- Caravan for Justice SD conducted a peaceful, COVID- safe vehicle protest Sunday to support the Black Lives Matter movement.

The event began at 2 p.m. in Balboa Park with vehicles decorated with Black Lives Matter signs, organizers said. The caravan began at 3 p.m. and ended at 4 p.m.

The group traveled down El Prado to the Plaza de Panama, past the Japanese Friendship Garden and Spreckels Organ Pavilion, and out of the park to 30th Street in South Park.

There were 23 vehicles that participated in the caravan, organizers said. Every car had some version of a Black Lives Matter sign or decoration.

"A lot of positive reactions along the route," one organizer said.

The next Caravan for Justice SD was scheduled in two weeks in Carlsbad starting from Holiday Park.
