SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Governor Gavin Newsom is expected to sign a bill that would create a cap on annual rental increases.
The bill passed both chambers of the California legislature this week.
The bill would limit rent increases to 5% per year, plus the rate of inflation.
It would also implement “just cause” protections, which require landlords to give specific reasons for evictions if tenants have lived in a unit for more than a year.
