CHULA VISTA, Calif. (CNS) - At least three people were hospitalized with serious injuries after a speeding SUV collided with three other vehicles in Chula Vista's Otay Ranch neighborhood, police said Thursday.

The crash happened about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of East Palomar Street and Santa Olivia Road, Chula Vista police Lt. Matt Smith said.

A man speeding in a black BMW SUV was heading westbound on Palomar Street in a lane designated for buses when the SUV struck at least three other vehicles, Smith said.

Three people were taken to the hospital, including one juvenile that was transported to Rady Children's Hospital, ABC 10News learned.

None of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening, Smith said. Authorities were investigating whether the BMW driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Anyone with information on the crash was urged to call CVPD's non- emergency line at 619-691-5151.
