SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A suspected arsonist is on the loose after a series of fires were set in Mira Mesa early Monday morning.

At around 2 a.m., San Diego Fire-Rescue crews were called to a Home Depot on 10604 Westview Pkwy. due to a fire burning near the store.

Several wooden pallets were on fire next to the store, and responding firefighters quickly doused the flames.

About an hour later, crews were summoned to the Post Office on 9051 Mira Mesa Blvd. over a tree fire. Firefighters quickly put out the fire before it spread.

Firefighters returned to the Home Depot at about 4 a.m. after a report of more pallets on fire. Crews doused the blaze quickly before it caused any damage to the store.
