LA JOLLA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Authorities are searching for whoever is responsible for intentionally setting two pickup trucks on fire in La Jolla early Monday morning.

At around 12:45 a.m., San Diego Fire-Rescue crews were called to the 400 block of La Canada in response to a vehicle fire. Responding crews quickly knocked the blaze down, but the fire destroyed the truck.

About an hour later, and a few blocks away in the 600 block of Westbourne Street, firefighters were called to a fire that was burning a parked pickup truck. Crews arrived and quickly doused the flames.

Based on a preliminary investigation, authorities at the scene said the fires appeared to be related, prompting a probe by San Diego police and Metro Arson Strike Team investigators.

No injuries were reported in either blaze.
