SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car in Mission Valley Wednesday afternoon.

The collision happened at around 2:17 p.m. in the 2200 block of Camino De La Reina, according to San Diego police.

ABC 10News learned a car was traveling westbound when it hit a person crossing the roadway.

The 26-year-old female driver remained at the scene for police questioning while the pedestrian was taken to the hospital. Police say the victim suffered a broken left femur and major head trauma. The driver did not have any injuries.

No further details about the victim were immediately released.
