SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Authorities said a third person -- a 17-year-old from Chula Vista -- was arrested in connection with the armed robbery and shooting of a Coronado High School student during a jewelry sale meetup earlier this month.

Coronado police say the 17-year-old was taken into custody Friday evening with help from El Cajon police officers. No other details on the arrest were released.

According to Coronado police, the teen was taken to San Diego County Juvenile Hall and charged with attempted murder, robbery, and assault with a firearm.

The other people arrested in the case were 18-year-old Alejandro Guzman and an unidentified 17-year-old male.

On May 4, on Orange Avenue and 10th Street, Jacob McKanry met up with two men to complete an online jewelry sale. During the meetup, McKanry was robbed and shot in the back.

McKanry was released from the hospital 10 days after he was shot. He returned to the hospital earlier this week to undergo an additional procedure related to injuries sustained in the shooting.
