3 detained in connection with College Area robberies

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police detained three men who they believe robbed several pedestrians in the College Area late Monday night.

At around 9:15 p.m., San Diego police were called to Adobe Falls Road in response to a robbery in which three people stole a phone charger from a person and then drove away in a dark-colored Toyota Camry.

In the following hours, officers responded to two other similar robberies in the area.

Police spotted a Camry matching the description of the car linked to the crimes on Fairmount Avenue and detained three men who were inside.

10News learned officers found several items in the car, including shoes that may belong to one of the robbery victims.

No arrests were immediately made as the investigation is ongoing Tuesday morning.
