2 women arrested after fight at Horton Plaza Park in downtown San Diego

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Two young women were arrested early Tuesday morning after a fight at a downtown San Diego park in which an elderly woman was allegedly pushed down some stairs.

San Diego police responded to the incident at Horton Plaza Park (900 Fourth Ave.) at around 3:45 a.m.

Witnesses told 10News they saw two women push an older woman down a set of stairs and then proceed to attack her.

Responding officers detained the two women, but one of them refused to comply during the arrest.

Officers used a special restraining device to control the struggling woman as she kicked and screamed, and they hauled both women away.

The injured woman was treated by paramedics at the scene and then taken to the hospital. Her condition is unknown.

The incident is under investigation.
