SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Two people were arrested after they BASE-jumped from a tall construction crane in downtown San Diego early Tuesday morning.

At around 1:15 a.m., a San Diego police officer patrolling the area of Park Boulevard and G Street in the East Village spotted two people on top of a crane just before they jumped.

After the pair leaped from the crane, officers gathered at the jumpers’ “landing zone” at 13th and F streets and arrested them.

The man and woman who jumped were not hurt, and there is no immediate word as to why they decided to scale the crane and jump.
