SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A 16-year-old boy is suspected of robbing and shooting a woman who later died of her injuries, San Diego Police said Tuesday.

Richella Funiestas, 18, was shot Dec. 21 in the area of 2600 Biola Ave. in Nestor, according to police. She died five days later at Paradise Valley Hospital.

The San Diego Police Homicide Unit determined the suspect was a teenager already being held in Juvenile Hall on an unrelated case. He has now been charged with homicide, police said.

Officers did not release the suspect's name due to his age.

Anyone with information was asked to call San Diego Police at 619-531-2293.
