RANCHO BERNARDO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Two people were ejected from a car that rolled over on Interstate 15 in Rancho Bernardo early Tuesday morning, with one of the vehicle's occupants declared dead at the scene.
The crash happened at around 12:30 a.m. on northbound I-15 just north of Rancho Bernardo Road, according to witnesses and the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials said the car lost control for unknown reasons, went up an embankment just off the freeway, came back down and then rolled over.
Two people were thrown from the vehicle, and 10News learned one of them died at the scene.
The other person was rushed to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
No other injuries were reported.
