POWAY, Calif. (KGTV)--Test results released Friday show that lead in water at four Poway schools is at safe levels.
Lead was found in water from cafeteria sinks at Painted Rock and Garden Road Elementary Schools and Poway High School, but not in levels considered actionable. Lead was also found in an outside drinking fountain at Garden Road.
No lead was detected in the water at Chapparal Elementary School.
Testing is in progress at Midland, Pomerado, Tierra Bonita, and Valley Elementary schools, Meadowbrook and Twin Peaks middle schools, Abraxas High School, and the CTE/Adult Education campus.
The Poway Unified School District sent a letter to parents last month to notify them of the testing.
