CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) - Carlsbad police are investigating videos and pictures posted on an Instagram account depicting violence and vandalism at the Alga Norte Community Park.
A concerned mother called 10News about the activity after seeing her son on the social media account.
Most of the videos and pictures were recorded at the skate park and show teenagers -- mainly boys -- fighting with each other, setting fires to parts of the property and lighting fireworks.
Police say they are increasing patrols in the area and following leads.
Residents are asked to call the Carlsbad Police Department immediately if they witness any illegal activity.
[Editor's note: The Carlsbad Police watch commander told 10News Thursday he was not aware of the incident or an investigation, although the investigation was in progress at the time.]
