NATIONAL CITY, Calif. -- A 33-year-old man who was seen fighting Sunday morning in National City was stabbed multiple times and died in a hospital
Jose Estrada was taken by paramedics to Scripps Mercy Hospital shortly before 8 a.m., where he later died, despite undergoing emergency trauma surgery, National City Police Department Officer Robert Rounds said.
Witnesses reported seeing Estrada fighting with two men in a vacant lot in the 2500 block of East 24th Street. They tried to help him after he had been stabbed several times in the torso, Rounds said.
The suspects were last seen fleeing the area on foot, heading east on East 24th Street, Rounds said.
