A man was arrested and another still at large after a home-invasion armed robbery in Spring Valley that sent one pistol-whipped victim to a hospital.

The robbery happened at 5:40 p.m. Friday in the 1000 block of Gillespie Drive in Spring Valley and involved two armed suspects and two adult victims.  During the robbery, a suspect struck one of the victims with a handgun while demanding cash.  After stealing an undisclosed amount of cash from the two adult residents, the two suspects fled in a pickup truck that had been stolen in Chula Vista.

The truck was quickly located by deputies about a mile from the robbery, with the suspects still in it.  Juan Vizcarra, 25, ran from the truck but was caught by deputies with the help of a sheriff's department police dog. The second suspect got away despite a yard-to-yard search of the area.

One of the victims was treated at a local hospital and released.  Vizcarra was treated at a local hospital and booked into the San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of armed robbery, vehicle theft, assault with a firearm, participating in a criminal street gang and other crimes.
