CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) – Chula Vista police are warning the public to expect heavy traffic on southbound Interstate 805 starting Friday afternoon due to a concert in the area.

Due to the Depeche Mode concert at the Mattress Firm Amphitheatre, police said traffic will likely be an issue on south I-805 at Main Street due to both concert traffic and the afternoon/evening commute.

Traffic is also expected to be heavy on Main Street from I-805 to the venue on 2050 Entertainment Circle.

Police suggest these alternative routes to get to the concert:

-- SR-125 toll road to Otay Mesa Road
-- Southbound I-5 to eastbound SR-905 to northbound I-805 and exit Main Street

Traffic is expected to form around 4 p.m. and last until 1 a.m.

Police have this reminder for those attending the concert:
