Suicide note taped to apartment front door prompts Hazmat response

Update, 4:34 p.m.: A man was transported for evaluation at a hospital. There is no threat posed to the public, authorities said. Hazmat also found a gallon container but it is unknown what, if anything, was inside of it. 

LINDA VISTA, Calif. -- A San Diego Fire Department hazardous materials crew responded to a suicide note left taped to a front door of an apartment complex on Caminito Basilio Wednesday afternoon indicating muriatic acid and other chemicals were used.

Neighbors told firefighters they smelled fumes near the unit.
