The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped Saturday to its lowest amount since Feb. 22, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $3.006.

The average price has dropped 50 consecutive days and 76 of the past 79, decreasing $1.23, including eight-tenths of a cent on Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 6.6 cents less than one week ago, 43.9 cents lower than one month ago and 69.4 cents below what it was one year ago.

The 50-day streak of decreases is the longest since a 58-day streak from Oct. 3-Nov. 29, 2014.
