The gun was discovered after 6 a.m. by an employee in the faculty parking lot, according the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. The employee first saw broken glass, and when she started to clean up the debris, she found the handgun on the ground.
The sheriff’s department has seized the gun and is searching for its owner. No arrests have been made.
No threats have been received against the school and investigators are treating this as an isolated incident, the sheriff’s department said.
