(KGTV) - A Pennsylvania groom is accused of sexually assaulting one of his wife’s bridesmaids days before his wedding, which occurred as scheduled.

Daniel Carney, 28, is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of an unconscious person and indecent assault at the Smithfield resort Aug. 30.

Police said the assault reportedly happened after Carney and the bridesmaid were drinking alcohol. The bridesmaid told officers she blacked out, and when she regained consciousness her clothes were removed and Carney was fondling her.

Surveillance video shows Carney pulling the woman into the men’s locker room, police said.

According to police, the assault stopped when the bride caught him, but the wedding went on as planned Sept. 1.

Court documents show investigators listened in on a call between Carney and his accuser, KABC reported. They say during the call, he repeatedly told her he was sorry, specifically saying it was his fault several times.
