A 95-year-old Pacific Beach woman suffered a life-threatening head injury when she fell out of a golf cart at her apartment complex, according to authorities.
The incident happened at 2404 Loring St. at about 8:20 p.m. Friday, when the woman was attempting to sit down on the rear-facing seat of the cart so she could get a ride, according to San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims.
But the driver, who thought she was ready to go, took off before the woman was seated, causing her to fall and hit her head on the pavement, Heims said.
Paramedics responded and took her by ambulance to a local hospital with serious bleeding of the brain, according to Heims. Police did not release her name.
