Garage theft delivers one-two punch to grieving woman

Posted

ESCONDIDO - Denise Real's family was busy preparing her mother's home to be sold and left the garage door open much of the day Sunday.

When Real got back, she walked in and her heart sank. A duffel bag she was storing temporarily in the garage was gone. In it were dozen of pieces of jewelry belonging to her mother, who passed away in December.

Also stolen was a container containing the ashes of her son William, who passed away more than a decade ago.

10News' Michael Chen spoke with Real about the heart-wrenching loss. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Escondido Police.
