Free shopping spree, career assistance for female veterans

and last updated

This weekend Operation Dress Code is opening a “Pop-up Boutique” to provide female veterans with business clothing.

The event is designed to provide the veterans with the professional wardrobe needed to successfully transition to the civilian workforce. Any women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces – and those who are currently serving – will receive a personalized shopping experience where they can select from new and gently used clothing, shoes, purses and accessories.

Operation Dress Code understands the transition is difficult for all veterans - but organizes these events for female veterans because they face a higher unemployment rate than men.

They will also receive a free photo shoot to provide them with professional headshots. Human resource professionals will be on hand to help the women with their resumes.

The event follows a two-week community clothing drive hosted by Courage to Call, Starbucks, San Diego Chamber of Commerce, CalVet, The American Legion Post 731 and local businesses.

WHERE:  American Legion Post 731  at 7245 Linda Vista Road.

WHEN:     Saturday, Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

HOW TO SIGN UP: If you're interested, please register online for a shopping spree time slot. You can do so by clicking here.
