SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Free flu shots will be available Friday through the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency and the San Diego Black Nurses Association.

Friday’s vaccination clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church Hall, 1962 Euclid Ave. in Webster.

87 people died from complications of the flu last year, HHS officials said.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone 6 months and older get a flu vaccine every year. It takes about two weeks for immunity to develop.

The flu vaccine is already available at doctors’ offices and retail pharmacies. People with no medical insurance can get a flu shot at a Community Health Center or a County public health center.
