CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A fire that engulfed a Chula Vista home early Friday morning displaced a family and killed at least three dogs.
The fire erupted for unknown reasons shortly after 4:30 a.m. at a house in the 1000 block of Cuyamaca Avenue, authorities said.
Crews were able to knock down the flames after nearly 30 minutes, and 10News learned the seven people inside the home -- including three young children -- were able to escape.
Two neighbors and a firefighter suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
Meanwhile, 11 dogs were in the house when the fire broke out, but at least three of them died, 10News learned.
The cause of the fire, which scorched two cars in the driveway and caused serious damage to the home's roof, is under investigation.
A GoFundMe account has been established to help the family with the recovery.
