Firefighters rescue unconscious man from burning City Heights apartment

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Firefighters pulled an unconscious man from a burning apartment in City Heights early Thursday morning.

At about 2:10 a.m., crews responded to a report of a fire at an apartment complex in the 3500 block of 42nd Street. When firefighters arrived, they saw a blaze burning in a second-story unit.

Firefighters entered the apartment and knocked down a small fire in the kitchen, but they found a man unconscious in another room.

Crews performed CPR on the man and then took him to the hospital. His condition is unknown.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
