It took firefighters about 10 minutes to put out a pre-dawn apartment fire in La Mesa Sunday.
Firefighters were called to the 9000 block of Campina Drive shortly before 3 a.m., where one unit of an apartment complex was "well involved" with smoke and flames, according to a dispatcher at Heartland Fire.
Sixteen firefighters in four engines and one truck fought the blaze. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was under investigation and a damage estimate was not immediately released.
