SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Hundreds of firefighters from several San Diego County departments are taking to the streets Wednesday for the annual Fill the Boot Drive.
Organizers said about 300 firefighters are participating in the fundraiser, which benefits adults and children with muscular dystrophy, ALS and other muscle-debilitating diseases and conditions.
Money raised from the fundraising effort will go towards research, care centers, and will help send dozens of local children to a Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) summer camp at Camp Cuyamaca.
Starting at 6:30 a.m., firefighters will be stationed at various intersections throughout the county.
