ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) - Fire crews were called out to a 3-acre vegetation fire near Deer Springs Road Friday.
Cal Fire and Escondido Fire crews were called to the scene of a fire on the west side of Interstate 15 just after 12 p.m.
An aircraft was also called in to help. At least a few structures were threatened at one point, but no damage has been reported. No injuries have been reported.
As of 7:30 p.m., the fire was fully contained. Cal Fire tweeted, "defensible space clearance made a difference in today's fire."
The number four freeway lane was closed at Center City Parkway as a result, according to Caltrans. It's expected to remain closed until about 5 p.m.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
The fire is the second vegetation fire to hit the Escondido area in two days. Thursday, crews fought a 2-acre vegetation fire off Dublin Lane and La Honda Drive.
