The crash occurred on eastbound Interstate 8 approaching College Avenue at 4:45 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.

All lanes of eastbound traffic were blocked at the Waring Road exit at 5:05 a.m., and were not expected to reopen until about 12:15 p.m.
