A FaceTime bug reportedly allows people to listen in on iPhone users, according to The Verge.

The site reports that the bug allows people to call you on FaceTime and listen to the phone’s microphone regardless of whether the person picks up.

The Verge reports that the bug works when you call someone on FaceTime video. Before the person picks up, the app allows you to add your own phone number to the call.

After adding yourself, the app reportedly begins sending the audio of the person you’re calling.

Apple says a fix to the issue is coming soon, but in the meantime there is a way to disable FaceTime completely.

  • Open settings on your device
  • Select FaceTime
  • Switch FaceTime to the off position
