ENCINITAS, Calif. (KGTV) - Neighbors of the two attempted kidnapping suspects in Escondido are shocked the young roommates are accused of such a disturbing crime.

Jeremiah Owens, 28, and Christopher White, 27, are roommates at the Villa La Paz apartments on North Broadway in Escondido.

White's social media pages said he works for Sunshine Communications in San Diego, installing cable, internet and phone lines in people's homes.

White has several photos of himself with a blue truck that appears to be the same truck police said the suspect was driving.

Activity on White's social media accounts indicates he moved to San Diego from the Phoenix area within the last few years.

White wrote on one photo that he was at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas with his roommate, Owens, and he was teaching Owens beginner photography.

Several neighbors told 10News the young men were friendly, and would often smoke with the windows wide open.

Neighbors said there were lots of people going in and out of their apartment.

As of late Friday night, investigators still had the apartment taped off with crime scene as they combed through the suspects' apartment for evidence.
