ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) - Escondido Police said Friday no charges will be filed at this time against a San Pasqual High School teacher at the center of a student complaint.

The student told officers the physical education teacher was standing at the door of the girl's locker room and had seen her changing into her clothes for PE class, said police.

Officers conducted further interviews with witnesses and determined there was "no probable cause to believe the teacher was involved in any criminal behavior."

The Escondido Police Department and the Escondido Union High School District (EUHSD) are working closely together during this investigation.

In a statement, EUHSD said the teacher will remain on paid leave until their internal investigation is completed, which they expect to finish next week.

The new school year started Wednesday.
