RAMONA (CNS) - Firefighters extinguishing a blaze that gutted a home near Dos Picos County Park today found a body inside the charred ruins, authorities reported.
Flames began spreading through the roughly 2,000-square-foot house in the 18200 block of Dos Picos Park Road about 9 a.m., according to Cal Fire.
The blaze destroyed the residence and burned some nearby vegetation before crews were able to gain the upper hand, said Kendal Bortisser, a fire captain with the state agency.
It was not immediately clear if the victim had been a resident of the home.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, Bortisser said.
